Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Salon, and the Chicago Tribune, among other venues, and she is the author of two suspense novels, both published by Little, Brown. She lives and looks for work in Plan B Nation.
Amy, this is golden! I found this via my dear old friend, Lynn T. Chu. (Writer’s Reps LLC, NYC) I’ve been writing all my life. We oldies have journals in garages going back the 30+ years which we occasionally ransack for parts. Not only that, but our friends (like Lynn) have left us with piles of envelopes, which can still be opened and bring a tear to the eye. (Or an epiphany to the mind.) The written word is thriving. Tweets and statuses are poetry. Our young friends bat the words about with pith and panache. I read them from my perch on FB and think of ee cummings. When you lure a guest with a beguiling bit of wicked jest: the inverted slap in the face of that Craig’s List ad, you are luring the right dude. Write for free! Bleed it onto the page! I’m very glad to know you are and do. My plan B is yours. Amen.

Thanks, Ken! What a nice surprise this message was–and how great that you found me through Lynn. She is so scary smart and such an interesting thinker. And yes, like you, I think there is so much on the plus side in FB and social media–often overlooked in the frenzy of concern over how it’s “changing” the way we live and think, on the theory that this must be a bad thing. (Just read another such piece in the Atlantic.)
I’ll hope to continue the conversation–in the meantime, many thanks for reading & reaching out!

My best wishes to you! Though I am new to your writing and love what little I have read so far. I happened upon you at Salon a weeks back (as I am constant Greenwald reader and fan) and have looked for more there but to no avail. Finally got around to googling you just yesterday, following up today and what a nice surprise to see you here and look forward to more. In the meantime I am going to ‘catch up’ on the google links to previous works.
Timing is everything …
J–
What a lovely message! Thank you so much. Please let me know if there are questions or topics that you’d like to see addressed. This is my first-ever blog, and it’s very much a work in progress.
Again, thank you so much! (I think I might have responded to a comment you left on the Subscriber page)
Congratulations, Amy, on launching this blog. It gets to the core issue that many people are feeling these days, and offers them a forum and community to both share ideas and find support. You and all who participate will undoubtedly learn a lot from the experience.
Thanks for all your support–on this & so much else, Marion!
